A Bridgwater businessman is on a mission to raise £7,000 for an ambulance to support medical aid in Ukraine
Bridgwater: Paul, a local businessman, is working hard to raise £7,000 for an ambulance. This effort is for Medical Life Lines Ukraine, a charity that sends medical help to those in need.
So far, he’s managed to gather over £700. If you want to check out the fundraiser, you can find it at: https://tinyurl.com/7jufb9fa.
The charity is based in Putney and is run by volunteers. They regularly send ambulances and medical supplies to Ukraine, which is super important right now.
Many hospitals near the front lines have lost their ambulances due to the ongoing conflict. This charity teams up with partners to provide quality vehicles for civilians needing urgent medical care.
“This winter is going to be tough for the people in Ukraine,” said Medical Life Lines Ukraine. They pointed out that attacks on power and hospitals are making things even harder.
They’re planning winter convoys to continue their support, following twelve earlier ones. It’s all about standing with Ukraine during these challenging times.
The Russian invasion, which started on February 20, 2022, has been the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two.
As of September 2024, the charity has delivered 81 ambulances filled with aid, along with generators and rescue equipment, to help those affected by the war.
