A young girl from Somerset is on a mission to open a new café in Frome, combining rescue cats and a cozy atmosphere for everyone to enjoy
Frome: Scarlet Moyle, the brains behind Puss in Books, wants to create a special spot where folks can hang out with rescue cats. This idea comes from her own experiences with mental health challenges.
She believes that in our busy lives, we all need a place to unwind with animals and books. It’s something that has really helped her in tough times.
Scarlet shared, “After dealing with mental illness for years, I decided to change my life. Cats have always been there for me, bringing comfort and joy. I want to create a space where people can make memories with these furry friends.”
Puss In Books will serve a fully vegetarian menu, using fresh, local ingredients. Plus, there will be free books to read and workshops like yoga and SEN sessions.
This project has been in the works for eight years, ever since Scarlet turned 18. Now that it’s finally happening, she can hardly believe it.
She said, “It’s been a long journey, and it’s wild to think it’s almost time to launch.”
If you want to help, you can check out her GoFundMe page.
“Puss in Books will be a warm, welcoming place that mixes the calming vibe of cats with delicious vegetarian food sourced from local suppliers,” she added.
“We want to create a cozy sanctuary for everyone, but we need funds to make it the best it can be.”
So far, Scarlet has raised £370 towards her £1,400 goal, and every bit helps to improve the lives of the rescue cats and the community.
