South London: A new nightclub has opened its doors. The council dropped its objections, allowing Gaffe to operate until 3:20 AM on weekends. This venue can host 150 people and is located off Wandsworth Road.

Gaffe, also known as Commune Studios, aims to be a cultural hub. It will hold club nights on weekends and rent out for events like DJ workshops and birthday parties. DJs like Hodge and Parris are set to perform soon.

Luca Marchal, the club’s owner, wants to create a space for artists. He previously hosted events in 2024 and saw a strong demand for more cultural venues in South London. He emphasized the need for safe spaces for the LGBT+ community and creatives.

After facing initial rejection, Marchal returned with a stronger application. He included measures like ID scanning and enhanced security. Promoter Hannah McInerney praised the venue’s soundproofing and safety during her event last year.

Some residents expressed concerns about noise and cleanliness. However, councillors approved the application, noting the thoughtful planning behind it. They emphasized the importance of providing a safe environment for everyone.
