Squire’s Garden Centres has taken over Dobbies in Twyford, promising a fresh start and a great selection of plants for the community
Twyford: Big news in the garden centre world! Squire’s Garden Centres just bought Dobbies Hare Hatch Garden Centre. Dobbies is closing this location at the end of the month, so it’s a timely move.
Squire’s isn’t new to the area; they already own a garden centre in Wokingham. This family-run business has been around since 1936 and is still going strong with three generations involved.
Sarah Squire, the Chairman, shared her excitement about the new opening in February. She’s eager to meet the team and connect with the local community.
They’re all about getting the centre up and running quickly. Sarah mentioned they’ll have a fantastic selection of plants, many of which are homegrown from their own nurseries. Perfect timing as spring is just around the corner!
They’re working hard to finalize an opening date soon. Plus, Squire’s is celebrating its 90th anniversary next year, which is quite a milestone in the garden centre industry.
They really focus on engaging with the community and providing quality plants, gardening products, and even garden furniture and gifts. Sounds like a great addition to Twyford!
