Jean Eaton, a beloved community champion, passed away at 82, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and fundraising.
St Albans: Jean Eaton passed away at 82 on December 29. Her funeral took place on January 29.
She was known for her volunteering and fundraising in Redbourn and St Albans. Many organizations, including Soroptimist International, honored her contributions.
The tribute highlighted her legendary fundraising skills and her ability to connect with others.
Jean raised thousands for charity, especially for Grove House and the Women’s Refuge.
She believed fundraising was about fun and building relationships, not just money.
Jean was a member of Soroptimist International St Albans and served as president twice.
As a chartered accountant, she was a dedicated treasurer since joining in 2000.
She organized events like the 100 laps of Verulamium Park for Soroptimist’s anniversary.
Jean was also a great traveler and made friends worldwide.
Since her passing, tributes have come in from many organizations, including the WI and U3A.
