Stable housing and support services are crucial to effectively address homelessness
Winchester: Some think homeless people will just accept living on the Bibby Stockholm. This view oversimplifies homelessness and ignores the real struggles people face.
Homelessness isn’t just about not having a roof over your head. It often involves mental health issues, substance abuse, trauma, or lack of support.
To tackle homelessness effectively, we need stable, long-term housing with tailored support. Temporary solutions won’t help those in need.
It’s not fair to compare the struggles of homeless citizens with those of irregular migrants. This only creates division.
Calling migrants “ungrateful” overlooks the tough situations they’ve escaped, like war and poverty.
The Bibby Stockholm offered poor and unsafe living conditions. It was hard to access, so expecting homeless people to accept it is unrealistic.
Instead of pitting vulnerable groups against each other, we should push for better housing policies that respect everyone’s dignity.
