STAR Housing has wrapped up its latest project, Aspen Grange, in Weston Rhyn, providing 40 new affordable homes for the community
Shropshire: STAR Housing just finished a cool new project called Aspen Grange in Weston Rhyn. They’ve built 40 affordable homes, which is fantastic for the area.
The Harper Group took the lead on this development, and it’s all set up for different living options. Out of the 40 homes, 36 are for affordable rent, and four are available for shared ownership.
These homes are built to high standards and come with some great features. They’ve got energy-efficient air source heat pumps, modern kitchens and bathrooms, plus private parking. Some even have solar panels to help cut down on energy bills.
There are also special homes designed for older folks, complete with winter gardens and scooter storage. Plus, they’ve included a community facility for everyone to enjoy.
To celebrate the completion, they held a nice event in the community room. Residents and local folks came together to enjoy some refreshments and celebrate this achievement.
Harpreet Rayet, the managing director of STAR Housing, shared how rewarding it is to see the positive impact these homes have on people’s lives. It’s all about meeting the community’s needs.
New tenants like Sammie Lewis and Mandy Davies expressed their happiness about their new homes. Sammie mentioned how perfect her two-bedroom home is for her family.
Mandy, who moved into a bungalow with her husband and dog, said downsizing was tough, but STAR Housing made the move much easier. She loves her new place and finds it suits them better.
Councillor Dean Caroll praised Aspen Grange as a great example of providing energy-efficient and quality affordable housing. He emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of community.
Andrew Chadd from J. Harper & Sons expressed pride in working with STAR Housing on this needed project. He highlighted the importance of affordable housing in rural areas and the sense of community that’s been built.
