Train services in Helensburgh are cancelled due to Storm Éowyn’s severe weather warnings. Stay safe and check for updates!
Helensburgh: ScotRail has announced that all train services are cancelled because of a serious “danger to life” red weather alert from the Met Office.
They’re expecting wind gusts reaching up to 92mph in parts of western Scotland, especially hitting coastal areas like Helensburgh.
This red alert is in effect from 10am to 5pm on Friday, with an amber warning earlier in the morning and a yellow warning lasting until Saturday afternoon.
If you can, it’s best to travel on Thursday and check the ScotRail website or app for updates before heading out on Saturday.
For those whose journeys are affected, you can use your existing ticket to travel until January 28, and you can also get a refund on any unused tickets without a fee.
Mark Ilderton, ScotRail’s service delivery director, emphasized that safety is their top priority. He mentioned that the severe weather means it’s not safe for passengers or staff, leading to the suspension of all services on Friday.
He also assured that once the storm passes, Network Rail Scotland will be working hard to check for safety and make any necessary repairs to get the trains running again.
Keep an eye on their website, mobile app, and social media for the latest travel updates before you plan to travel on Saturday.
