Essex: Storm Éowyn is making quite the entrance, and folks are on high alert. The storm’s got a warning in place from 6 am today until 6 am tomorrow. It’s covering a big chunk of southern England.

The European Storm Forecast Experiment is behind this alert, saying there’s a good chance of severe winds and even tornadoes. They’ve rated it a “level two” warning, which means we could see some serious thunderstorms within 40 kilometers.

And get this, gusts could hit up to 90 mph starting Friday morning. The warning stretches across most of England, except for a small part of Cornwall. Meanwhile, Ireland might see gusts reaching 125 mph along the coast.

The meteorologists are saying that a cold front is moving in, and it’s bringing some unstable air with it. This could lead to long-lasting tornadoes, especially along the Bristol-London line.

In Essex, a yellow wind warning is set from 5 am tomorrow until 3 pm. The Met Office is advising everyone to check road and travel conditions to avoid any delays. Better safe than sorry, right?
