Bromley Rotary Youth Awards recognized thirty-six students from seventeen schools for their outstanding contributions to the community.
The awards were at The Langley arts center where many families attended. Local Rotarians and leaders were also there. The mayor, David Barrington-Jefferys, gave prizes.
These students worked hard across Bromley. Winners received a certificate, a voucher, and a ticket to Bromley Football Club.
Some kids are young carers at home, caring for family with health issues. Others volunteer at care homes in the town and many raised money for charity efforts. Charities like Cancer Research even benefited.
Some students even helped build a Tanzanian school. Several also serve on the Bromley Youth Council, and one even created their own special charity.
One student managed a charity run to raise funds, running from Paris to St Andrews and raising twenty-four thousand pounds. Another helps give hot meals to homeless people.
Others help at schools with kids who need support. One volunteered at Bethlem Hospital, and another works with children who have autism.
The Bromley awards began 10 years ago with only four schools involved. This year, there were 20 school nominations.
Winners ranged from eleven to eighteen years old. More students received commendations for activities outside of school time, helping their families, communities, and even the wider world.
