Superdrug is back on track to open a store at Orbital Shopping Park, previously occupied by Sports Direct, after shifting focus last year
Swindon: Superdrug is making a comeback with plans to open a store at the Orbital Shopping Park. They’ve submitted a planning application for signage at unit B4B, right across from the library.
This unit was previously home to Sports Direct, which is set to vacate by December 2024. Superdrug had actually tried to get this store going last year but then switched gears to focus on a new branch at Greenbridge Retail Park.
Back then, they mentioned there wouldn’t be a store at Orbital just yet, but they were excited about the Greenbridge location opening this summer. Now, it looks like they’re ready to give the Orbital plan another shot.
They want to move the automatic doors to the left side of the shopfront and add some snazzy pink LED lighting to brighten things up. Plus, they’re looking to install security shutters behind the glass for extra safety.
