A Swindon man has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for attacking another man with a golf club, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
The incident took place on December 1, when emergency services, including armed police, rushed to Penhill Drive after reports of a violent attack. It was a pretty chaotic scene, with a man swinging a golf club around.
Sadly, the victim ended up with some serious injuries and needed hospital care. During a court hearing on December 3, the prosecutor mentioned that the two men knew each other, and it seemed like a family feud sparked the whole thing. But there was hardly any reason for Walsh to lash out like that.
At first, Walsh didn’t enter a plea and was kept in custody until his sentencing. When he finally pleaded guilty on January 17, the judge decided he deserved a hefty 40-month prison sentence. The court made it clear that the crime was so serious that only jail time would do.
