TfL is considering making the suspension of the 319 night bus route permanent due to low usage before the pandemic
London: So, here’s the scoop. Transport for London (TfL) is thinking about cutting the late-night 319 bus route that runs from Sloane Square to Streatham Hill. This route has been on hold since the pandemic hit, and now they want to make that suspension a permanent thing.
They say not many people were using it even before everything shut down, so they don’t see a reason to bring it back. Plus, since it’s already not running, they believe it won’t really affect anyone who might want to use it.
The 319 bus follows the same path as the daytime service, which is still going strong. It stops at places like King’s Road, Battersea, Clapham Junction, Tooting Bec, and of course, Streatham.
TfL also mentioned that there are still other night bus routes available for folks traveling between Streatham Hill and Tooting Bec Gardens, and from Northcote Road to Sloane Square. And let’s not forget, the night Tube is still serving Tooting Bec station on the Northern line.
If you’ve got thoughts on this, you’ve got about six weeks to share them. The consultation wraps up on February 23, so don’t miss out!
