The Oaks pub has reopened under new management, aiming to create a welcoming atmosphere and improve its reputation in the community
West Hyde: A month ago, Jimmy Demir took over The Oaks near Maple Cross, and it just reopened last week. The pub had been closed for six months due to issues with the previous landlord.
Jimmy’s dad, Alex, is the head chef, and his fiancée, Eda, is helping with the business side while juggling her NHS job. They’re all in this together!
Jimmy is really focused on turning things around. He told the Watford Observer that they want to build good relationships with local authorities and the police to make the pub a safe spot for everyone.
He’s confident they can improve the place and boost sales. Right now, they’re working long hours to get everything just right, including a new à la carte menu.
Despite it being January, sales have already been better than expected, and the support from the community has been amazing. They’re eager to change how people see the pub and make it a go-to for good food and drinks.
After a deep clean and a fresh look, the pub reopened last week, and the response has been fantastic. They even had to turn away customers because the kitchen ran out of food, which is a good problem to have!
Jimmy has a decade of experience in the industry, while Alex brings 35 years of expertise. They’re excited to serve the local community and are proud of what they’re doing.
If you want to book a table, you can email them since they’re having some issues with their phone line. It’s all about making The Oaks a great place to hang out!
