The Rivers CofE Academy Trust will manage the new Foxlydiate First School in Redditch, set to open in 2027 to meet local demand.
Worcestershire County Council approved the school plans in November 2023. They invited bids to run the school from April to June 2024.
After reviewing the proposals, a recommendation was made to the Regional Director for the Department for Education. They made the final decision on behalf of the Secretary of State.
Councillor David Chambers, who oversees education in Worcestershire, expressed excitement. He said The Rivers CofE Academy Trust will lead this important new school.
He praised their strong record in providing quality education. He believes this will give Redditch children a great start in their education.

The trust is one of the largest primary specialist trusts in the West Midlands. They have a history of improving schools and providing excellent education.
They have experience in starting new schools, including a free school in 2019. Their community focus will make Foxlydiate a welcoming place for local children.
Established in 2014, The Rivers CofE Academy Trust specializes in primary education. They currently run 15 academies, with 12 in Worcestershire, all rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
The trust supports over 5,500 pupils and employs 850 staff, making it a major player in primary education in the West Midlands.
