A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a Christmas Day murder in Blackburn, following a man being struck by a vehicle.
Blackburn: So, there’s been a pretty shocking incident over Christmas. A man named Kirk Marsden was hit by a car outside a pub, and sadly, he didn’t make it.
It all went down at the Gate Street Bar and Grill. Apparently, there was some kind of argument inside before things escalated outside. Kirk, who was 37, was rushed to the hospital but passed away the next day.
Police have arrested a couple of guys already, but now they’ve nabbed a third suspect. One of the earlier arrests was a 58-year-old man, and the other was a 31-year-old from Blackburn. The 31-year-old is still in custody, while the older guy is out on bail.
Then, just recently, they arrested a 26-year-old too. It’s all pretty intense, and the police are really pushing for any info from the public.
DCI Bryony Midgley from the police said they’re thinking of Kirk’s family during this tough time. They’re getting support from specially trained officers, which is good to hear.
Kirk’s family shared a heartfelt tribute, saying he was a hero and that he’ll be missed dearly. They’re really feeling the loss, especially during the holidays.
DCI Midgley is asking anyone who might have seen anything or has footage from around the area to come forward. They’re looking for any clips that might show the Toyota Land Cruiser involved in the incident.
If you’ve got any info, the police want you to call 101 and mention log 747. It’s a sad situation, and hopefully, they can get to the bottom of it soon.
