A serious crash on the A346 near Marlborough sent three individuals to the hospital, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Marlborough: On Tuesday afternoon, emergency services were called to the A346 after a multi-vehicle crash. It happened around 1:15 PM at Salisbury Hill near Savernake.
Fire crews from Pewsey and Swindon showed up with hydraulic tools to help paramedics reach those injured. It was quite the scene with multiple police and ambulance teams on site.
An air ambulance and four land ambulances were also dispatched. They took three patients to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
The road between Marlborough and Cadley was closed for the rest of the afternoon, causing a lot of delays for drivers. Stagecoach West even warned bus passengers about potential hold-ups.
A spokesperson from Marlborough Town Council advised folks to find alternative routes since the A346 would be closed for a while.
Wiltshire Police confirmed they responded to the crash and are currently investigating. They mentioned that the road remains shut while recovery efforts are underway.
The South Western Ambulance Service also reported they sent a full team to the scene, ensuring everyone got the help they needed.
Fire crews wrapped up their work around 2:42 PM after assisting with the situation. It was a busy day for everyone involved, but thankfully, the injuries were not severe.
