Angus has revealed its top 15 locations for parking tickets issued in 2024
Interestingly, 358 of those fines were overturned after appeals. Last year, they issued about 3,400 tickets, which was a bit lower, totaling around £286,000.
So, where are the hotspots? The High Street in Arbroath tops the list with 286 tickets. Montrose’s High Street follows closely with 260. Forfar’s East High Street and Castle Street also made the cut, with 216 and 144 tickets, respectively.
If you’re parking in Angus, you might want to keep an eye on those areas. Angus Council runs a decriminalised parking enforcement system, which means they handle most violations themselves. A penalty charge notice usually costs £100, but you can pay less if you do it early.
Drivers have 28 days to settle up, and if you think a ticket was unfair, you can challenge it. If that doesn’t work, you can take it to the Parking and Bus Lane Tribunal for Scotland. But be careful—if you still don’t pay, they can take you to court. So, it’s best to stay on the right side of the law when parking around here!
