Residents voiced concerns about traffic issues at the Harlow Bus Users Group’s first meeting in years
Harlow: Last week, the Harlow Bus Users Group met for the first time in years. It was a chance for residents to share their thoughts. Chair Matthew Saggers hopes this meeting will spark good conversations.
One big concern was the traffic chaos around town. Many residents feel frustrated with the current situation. They want to see improvements soon.
Another topic was the Harlow Bus Station. Plans for its regeneration started at the end of 2024. The final designs should be ready by March.
The UK government and The Sustainable Transport Hub are funding this project. They aim to have the station open by November 2026. It will be a vibrant space with better facilities.
However, the station struggles to keep up with current demands. It’s one of the busiest outside major cities. A lack of investment over the past 25 years has made things worse.
During the meeting, bus operators shared their frustrations too. Ongoing roadworks are affecting bus punctuality. Residents and operators hope for solutions soon.
