Supermarkets are recalling cough syrups due to contamination fears, urging customers to check their bottles from as far back as September 2022
London: Supermarkets are in a bit of a frenzy right now. They’ve just recalled some cough syrups because of contamination worries. It all started when a customer found something strange in their medicine.
Now, they’re asking everyone to check their bottles, especially if you bought them since September 2022. The affected products include Tesco Health Dry Cough Relief and Asda Strong Dry Tickly Cough, among others.
A spokesperson from UKHRSA mentioned that this recall is just a precaution. They found foreign material in some bottles after a single complaint. The investigation is still ongoing, but they’re taking this seriously.
Retailers have been told to stop selling these products right away and to quarantine any remaining stock. If you have any of these syrups, keep an eye out for any visible contamination and reach out to a healthcare professional if you’re worried.
They also reminded folks to report any adverse reactions through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. This recall follows another urgent one from Lidl about contaminated cheddar cheese that could cause serious health issues.
So, if you’ve got any of these products at home, it’s best to check and stay safe!
