Farnham is exploring a new School Street plan to limit traffic near Potters Gate Primary, aiming for a safer environment for students.
Farnham: Residents and parents are being asked to weigh in on a new “School Street” plan. This could mean less traffic and parking around Potters Gate Primary School.
The idea is to make the area safer and more pleasant. They want to close off Potters Gate and Beavers Road during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Imagine a quieter street where kids can walk, scoot, or cycle to school. Parents are encouraged to park a bit further away to help with this.
There’s a survey for parents and residents to fill out by next Friday, January 31. Plus, there’s an in-person event at the school tomorrow from 5 PM to 8 PM.
This could be the second area in Farnham to adopt such a scheme. The first one in Surrey is likely happening in Heath End.
Surrey County Council is discussing how to roll out the Bullers Road School Street Scheme. They’re also chatting with other councils about how to make this work.
More info will come soon, but some vehicles will still be allowed in and out during certain times.
