Basingstoke: Starting January 27, Waitrose is rolling out a sweet deal for its customers. You can grab one free hot drink each day, like an americano or latte, just by bringing your reusable cup.
A spokesperson mentioned that many My Waitrose members prefer to enjoy their free coffee while shopping, so they’re making it easier for everyone. No need to buy anything first!
This perk doesn’t apply to cafés or petrol station stores, though. It’s all about making the shopping experience a bit more enjoyable.
Previously, you had to make a purchase to get your free drink, but that’s changing. This new rule is a return to the original setup from 2013, which was paused during the pandemic.
Waitrose is also looking to compete with M&S, especially after recent market data showed M&S has taken the lead among middle-class shoppers. They’re making these changes to keep up!
Along with the free drinks, they’ve introduced other perks, like 20% off at the cheese counter on Thursdays and automatic vouchers for loyalty members. However, the free daily newspaper deal is going away.
