Kent Police nabbed Daniel Bryan with a gun in his sock after stopping a car traveling from Brixton. He was convicted and sentenced.
Daniel Bryan lived on Stofield Gardens, Eltham. A jury convicted him of a gun crime that occurred on July 30, 2024.
Kent Police got a tip about a suspicious car driving from Brixton to Kent. They located it on Ashford Road, Maidstone. Two people were in the car, and police stopped them. Bryan was one of them.
Officers searched Bryan and found a gun in his sock, under his jogging bottoms. The bodycam video shows the discovery as police seized the weapon and arrested Bryan. Tests showed it was a modified starter pistol that could fire real bullets.
Bryan, age 30, got charged with having an illegal gun, but he said he was innocent. The court found him guilty, and he got six and a half years in jail. His sentencing happened January 31, 2025.
Detective Constable Stuart Drakeley commented on the case, saying Bryan’s gun was very dangerous and could have killed someone. Bryan had no reason to carry it, and he deserves prison.
Police want illegal guns off Kent streets and will keep targeting those who break the law. People caught will face long prison terms.
