Watford Community Housing has retained its top ratings for governance and viability, showcasing its commitment to quality services for residents.
Watford: This week, the Regulator of Social Housing shared some great news about Watford Community Housing. They got top marks in governance and viability, which is fantastic!
They kept their G1 governance grade and V1 viability grade from a previous check in July 2024. This means they’re doing a solid job meeting all the necessary governance requirements and have the financial strength to handle tough situations.
Tina Barnard, the chief executive, expressed her delight at retaining these ratings. She mentioned that it shows they’re well-governed and financially stable, which is a big deal.
On top of that, they also received a C1 judgement last year, making it three top ratings from the Regulator. Tina emphasized that these ratings reflect their commitment to providing quality services and putting residents first.
The stability check looked at various documents and regulatory returns to see how well they’re meeting the viability standards. It turns out, they’re regularly reviewing their approach to make the best use of resources and ensuring they get good value for money.
Even with high standards already in place, there’s still evidence of ongoing governance improvement. However, this stability check didn’t cover the consumer category, so their previous C1 rating remains unchanged.
In the last judgement, it was noted that they’re effectively delivering on consumer standards and quickly addressing any issues that pop up.
Currently, Watford Community Housing owns 5,434 homes across the East of England and London, making a significant impact in the area.
