LCP Estates Ltd plans to take over management of Weavers Wharf car park to enhance efficiency and improve facilities
Kidderminster: So, it looks like there’s a shake-up happening at the Weavers Wharf car park. Wyre Forest District Council has shared that LCP Estates Ltd wants to take over the management of the car park.
They’re looking to ditch the current parking order to make things run smoother. The idea is to improve the car park’s infrastructure and make it easier for everyone to park.
Councillor Ben Brookes mentioned that the car park has been part of the Weavers Wharf Shopping Centre since it opened back in the early 2000s. Even though the council has been managing it, they don’t actually own it.
LCP wants more flexibility in how the car park operates, and the council is on board with starting that process. A spokesperson from LCP said they plan to handle the management and enforcement themselves.
They’re also keen on investing in repairs and making sure the car park is well-maintained. The council is currently running a consultation about this change, which kicks off on January 16 and wraps up on February 5.
