Residents in Lichfield are stuck at home due to a massive pile of rubbish blocking their road, causing frustration and concern for local businesses.
People are understandably upset. The rubbish is not just an eyesore; it smells terrible too. Elaine Hutchings, who runs a livery yard, said the stench is noticeable from quite a distance. The road, Watery Lane, was already partially closed for repairs, and now it’s completely unusable.
Elaine mentioned that several homes are cut off because of this mess. Some residents, including her, managed to find a way out thanks to a detour set up by a housing developer. But not everyone is so lucky.
Local officials are on the scene, trying to figure out how to clear the rubbish. The Lichfield District Council has already contacted the Environment Agency for help. They’re looking for clues to catch those responsible for this fly-tipping.
This isn’t the first time fly-tipping has caused chaos. Just weeks ago, a similar incident happened at an Asda store in Scotland. It’s frustrating for everyone involved, and the council is urging anyone with information to come forward.
