Lewis Blake scammed Kent victims out of thousands, only to waste it on gambling and adult sites, leading to his imprisonment.
Between August 2020 and May 2021, this guy managed to scam 89 victims, raking in over £64,000. He seemed like a decent tradesman, so folks were happy to pay him upfront. But then he vanished, leaving them high and dry.
Blake made up all sorts of excuses, like blaming the pandemic and shipping issues. But it turns out he only ordered 14 shutters during that time. Meanwhile, he was living it up, spending more than £100,000 on gambling and £14,000 on adult content.
The victims banded together on social media to share their stories. Eventually, Blake pleaded guilty and got 18 months in jail. He’s also banned from being a company director for seven years.
Detective Constable Beth Brimmicombe-Wood said Blake’s actions hurt honest tradespeople. He claimed he was trying to gamble his way out of trouble, but that’s just not right. He’s now facing the consequences of his actions.
