A recent report reveals the railway stations in Worcestershire with the highest crime rates
Worcestershire: This county has a mix of railway stations, from busy commuter hubs to quaint village stops. It’s interesting to see how they all stack up in terms of crime.
In 2024, there were 116 crimes reported at these stations, which is a nice drop from 167 in 2023. So, things are looking a bit better.
Worcester Foregate Street had the most reported crimes in both years. It makes sense since it’s the busiest station around. On the flip side, Blakedown, the second least used station, had zero crimes reported.
The most common issues at Foregate Street were violence, sexual offences, and bike theft, each happening 11 times. There were also a few cases of criminal damage and other thefts.
Kidderminster came in second with 13 crimes, while Redditch was close behind with 11.
The British Transport Police keeps an eye on things across the railways in England, Wales, and Scotland. They have officers on duty all the time to help keep crime in check.
A spokesperson mentioned that they’re always working hard to prevent crime and that they rely on stats to place officers where they’re needed most. Plus, the CCTV helps catch offenders.

When looking at crimes per 100,000 passengers, Worcestershire Parkway had the highest rate, with 15.7 incidents. Pershore and Malvern Link followed behind.
Interestingly, Worcester Foregate Street’s numbers seem more average when viewed this way, with only 2.79 crimes per 100,000 visitors.
On the safer side, stations like Worcester Shrub Hill and Kidderminster reported very few crimes. Blakedown, as mentioned, had none at all.
