The Wrexham community is coming together to support the family of a young boy who tragically passed away, launching a fundraiser to help.
Wrexham: On January 17, four-year-old Brodie Perrett sadly passed away, leaving a big void in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
In the wake of this heartbreaking news, the community has really come together to lend a hand during this tough time.
A family friend, Becky Thompson, started a Go Fund Me page that quickly exceeded its £3,000 goal in just two days. It’s amazing to see such support!
Becky shared, “This beautiful 4-year-old boy was taken from us too soon. The whole community is in shock and sends their deepest condolences to the family.”
She added, “We always pull together when someone needs us. It’s been a huge shock for everyone who knew Brodie, and we want to help ease the burden on his family.”
Becky also mentioned that Brodie’s family is always the first to help others in a crisis, and now it’s their turn to receive support. There’s even a collection bucket at the Plas Madoc shop for cash donations, and other residents are organizing separate fundraisers.
In her social media post, Becky expressed, “No one should have to say goodbye to a four-year-old; it’s just unimaginable.”
Local businesses are stepping up too, showing their support by collecting donations to assist the family with funeral costs.
Cherie’s Kitchen in Trevor has pledged to donate a day’s earnings, while ‘Vanillaice Wrexham’ is serving blue ice cream in Brodie’s honor, with proceeds going to the family.
The Con’s Club in Ruabon is also hosting a fundraiser at the Cefn Club on January 23 at 6:30 PM.
A spokesperson said, “We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of little Brodie. We kindly ask local businesses to donate prizes for this event. Your generosity will help us raise as much as possible to support this family during such a heartbreaking time.”
Brodie will be missed by everyone who knew him, and our hearts go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
