Pizza Express celebrated National Pizza Day giving away 60 Margarita pizzas per restaurant to customers wearing black and white stripes on February 9th.
Each restaurant gave away 60 free Margarita pizzas. These pizzas had a classic base, worth up to £13.45. You had to follow a specific dress code to win.
Customers needed to wear black and white stripes, matching the Pizza Express logo. Groups could have many striped members; each striped person got a free pizza if they were among the first 60 people there.
The offer began when each restaurant opened and ended when all free pizzas were gone. In Swindon, stores opened at 11:30 AM in Old Town and at the Designer Outlet Centre. Arriving early was recommended.
Other locations included Marlborough High Street and Salisbury’s Blue Boar Row. Find more at Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet. Cheltenham’s Henrietta Street and Cirencester’s Castle Street also participated.
A Pizza Express spokesperson said free pizzas weren’t guaranteed. They handed out “National Pizza Day” tokens on a first-come, first-served basis. Each pizzeria only had 60 tokens.
